CL 3.3 Equipped by God

June 12, 2017

The unit of work demonstrates one approach that can be taken with year 5 students inquiring into the Christian Living key idea: Christians have a responsibility in and for the world.

Students investigate what the Bible has to say about people’s responsibilities for care of the earth. They reflect on acts of ‘servanthood’ throughout the Bible, investigate the skills and abilities God has equipped people with to care for the world and they explore Christian and Lutheran ministry in social justice on a local and global level. Students will begin to develop an awareness of and sensitivity to suffering in the world and build positive attitudes towards helping others in need, reflecting on what it means to live as a servant of God.
