Libby is working with LEA on a one year contract as Team Leader for the new Worship and Devotional Life in Lutheran Schools and Early Childhood Services Project.
In addition to this role, Libby works for the LCA Commission on Worship running the Worship Planning Page, providing resources to congregations, and she is also organising the LCA Daily Devotions in 2023. So Libby spends a lot of time immersed in worship and devotions!
Libby is married and lives in the Barossa Valley. She has two adult sons. Before coming to work at the LCA, Libby was a secondary teacher for ten years, teaching mostly English, History and Research Project. She worships at St Petri Lutheran Church, Nuriootpa, and loves getting involved in ministry with children, young people and families, especially at Messy Church.
The Worship and Devotional Life Project
Libby is very excited about the new LEA Worship and Devotional Life Project. She has gathered a great team of people representing teachers, school leaders, lay chaplains and school pastors from around the regions, who represent learning communities from Early Childhood Services to secondary schools.
The team aims to provide a suite of resources to support worship and devotions across the Lutheran education. They are already gathering excellent resources from schools and ECSs, and are keen for people to send in their work to share. By the end of 2022, the revamped website will feature advice, planning tools and resources in a variety of styles to support leaders, teachers and students to engage with and lead worship and devotions.
Libby and the team will host workshops early in Term 2 in each region for worship coordinators, chaplains and school pastors to gather good ideas, resources and feedback. Information about these free full day workshops will be sent out via the regional offices in the next two weeks.
To share your ideas or resources with the team, please email Libby at libby.krahling@lca.org.au.
