A vision for learners and learning

August 24, 2021

The Vision for Learners and Learning review is well underway with schools and ECSs engaging in workshops to provide feedback. As part of the review process, we are convening an expert reference panel. The role of the expert reference panel will be to analyse and integrate the feedback received from the workshops into recommendations for the next phase of the project. As we are part of the global Lutheran education community and benchmark ourselves to world standards, we are including international experts in this group.

We are delighted to have Dr Mary Scott on board. Dr Scott is currently the Chief Executive Officer (ie Head of College) of Orange Lutheran High School in California, a comprehensive private Christian co-educational college preparatory high school, grades 9-12, that exists to help its 1,300 students internalise the gospel message of salvation in Christ Jesus. Dr Scott previously served as the Head of School and Chief Executive Officer at Concordia International School in Shanghai, China for four years, overseeing over 1,310 Pre-K through 12th-grade students. Prior to her time in China, Dr Scott served at Concordia University Irvine for over 30 years in increasingly responsible positions, completing her tenure there as Provost and Executive Vice President. Dr Scott has an impressive academic background that includes degrees from Concordia University Chicago, Adelphi University, and Pepperdine University. Moreover, she is a Commissioned Minister of Religion in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

We are looking for members of our own community to join the expert reference group. If you are interested, please contact lea@lutheran.edu.au.
